This is the second time I have used Precision to service my garage door. The first time was when I first moved into my home and the garage door was not closing properly. They were able to quickly diagnose my problem (the rails were not in alignment) and corrected it very quickly. This time mice had chewed through the rubber striping at the bottom of the door. Belt-drive opener was installed in 2011 & has been mostly trouble free. Strange graphite-looking streak just appeared on the outside center of the overhead door. Tony was dispatched for a look. First impression was something in the rail, but all was dry & no belt chunks or cuts seen. Tony hadn't ever seen a belt problem such as this, then took a good look at the door end of the rail and saw the cause: oil dripping from the center end of one spring. It could be a sealed bearing leak, or possibly Silicon lubricant that had been applied during February's tune-up. After Tony cleaned the oil off the spring and door, we decided to keep watch. If no more oily drips, no problem. If it recurs, then we'll replace the springs.
