I couldn't get my car out of the garage this morning because my garage door wouldn't open. I found Precision Garage Door Service and decided to use them because of their high rating, and I was shocked that I was able to get a same day appointment. I also live in Edgewood. The times were so convenient for me which was a bonus. When Matt showed up, he was apologetic because he "took too long" but he was within my window, and I didn't mind. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and explained everything to me. He was not pushy when he was showing me the options for my garage door repair. It didn't take him very long to repair my door, and he had to put up with my howling dogs the whole time LOL. If I ever need garage door work, I will definitely use Precision Garage Door Service again and highly recommend you do the same.

Poor communication. Rude and unprofessional manager (if Gary is the manager). This company has serviced 2 addresses for us over the past 6 years for services worth more than $5k. Today’s experience was very unprofessional that I’m leaving this review although the way things were handled today, I doubt that any responsible action would be taken if Gary is the true manager. When we called last week and requested a technician to come back to check the garage door sensors at our rental for trouble shooting (they were replaced 2 months ago), I noted to the dispatcher and to call when the technician gets there since this is a rental. Apparently this information was noted like they said they would. On the day of service, I got a message from the technician that he was on his way, then 40 minutes later I get an email that the service has been completed - with no call or detailed provided of what was done. My husband and I had to call the Answering Service/dispatcher 3 times over two hour period to get a call from the technician to see what was done. After speaking to the first dispatcher, she said that there was no note for the technician to call and she said she will send a message for the technician to call ASAP. After receiving no call for an hour, I called again and spoke to another dispatcher and she said that perhaps that technician is busy and she would send another message. When i asked if there was a note that i called an hour ago for the same thing she said no there wouldn’t be which is not reassuring about the communication and the workflow. After 40 minutes I called for the third time and after receiving the same answer that they would send the same message to call ASAP, I requested to escalate this to a manager she said they would leave a message for him to call next day. The technician finally called and said the issue was just a loose wire that he fixed and apologized for not calling and said it was not noted for him to call and he thought the person at the property was my son. Then 15 min later I get a call from a person who identified as Gary and was talking in a angry and condescending way from the beginning - did not identify his role (I don’t even know if he’s a manager) and immediately after asking who am I threatened that they don’t have to service my address in the future. I replied to him that looks like he already made up his mind and I asked why is he talking that way he blamed me for not being at the appointment and calling After Hours at 6:30 PM.

I was lucky. I picked Precision because of the star ratings plus it was around 8:00 pm when I could not get my garage door to close. Matt came over and fixed everything including a new motor, springs, rollers, etc Matt explained everything he was going to have to do to fix the problem. Plus, my garage door was so noisy. After he replaced my motor it runs very quietly and the garage door does not close with a bang. It closes very lightly. HOW DARE THEY. I scheduled a technician to come to my home to fix a squeaky garage door. Unfortunately, I double-booked myself at work and asked my wife to be home for the appointment. Apparently I still live in a world where some technicians think they can scam women. I expected the $79 service charge to cover an inspection, lubrication, and a basic tune-up. Nope. Instead, the technician quoted $1,749.61 to replace springs, rollers, and other parts. He also told my wife that if she approved the work immediately, she would get a “lifetime” warranty. When my wife called me, I told her the door had originally been installed by Precision and should already be under their “lifetime” warranty. The technician then said only the springs—which weren’t broken and he admitted probably didn’t even need replacing—might be covered. The rest of the work would still be about $1,200. And to even check the warranty, we would need to produce a receipt from 10 years ago, because despite having my name in their system from the original install, they apparently have no record of the service. So in the end, I paid $86.05 ($79.95 + tax) for a technician to come to my house and try to sell my wife nearly $1,800 in unnecessary work. I was perfectly willing to pay for a legitimate tune-up and honest service. Instead, I got a high-pressure upsell and a warranty that suddenly became very difficult to honor. At this point, I’ll handle the door myself—I can buy silicone spray—or I’ll find a technician who is actually honest. Bottom line: If you’re expecting honest diagnostics and a simple tune-up, that’s not what we experienced.
