After more than one unhappy service experience with the seller/installer of my garage door, I was cautious after arranging an appointment with Precision Garage Door. However, I need not to have worried. My technician was Lorenzo and he did a fabulous job. First of all, he is very personable. He explains thoroughly how he is going to approach the situation, gives you multiple, detailed options for solution and the pros (and any limitations) of each, and then walks you through all the work completed. The end result was my door was functioning (first objective!), performs quieter than I thought possible, and I'm confident in both my door and any service I might ever need in the future. My only regret is that Precision Garage Door doesn't service Rio Arriba County for my other garage!

Noticed I had a frayed cable on our garage door. Called Precision on Sunday and they said no extra charge for Sunday. They said Gary could be there between 2 and 4. He called about 1:45 and said he was 10 minutes away. He looked at the door and figured out what was causing the cable to fray. He suggested a overhead spring as it would last. He had it installed in about an hour. The door works great and I would recommend Precision to anyone.

We used Precision a few years ago to repair a broken garage door spring and they were great. Recently we have been looking to install upgraded garage doors (carriage doors) to increase the value of our home and improve the outward appearance. Like the review below, at first we were frustrated a tech had to come out for the estimate. It seems like we should get an estimate online. However, unlike the review below, we are extremely glad we had Lorenzo come out for our estimate! He took the time to measure our doors (odd size), review clearance concerns with the types of doors we wanted, honestly evaluate the condition of our existing hardware, take into consideration the environment where we live and many more factors. He made several phone calls to confirm various factors. The price was far lower than we expected. We were also pleased to learn Precision not only hauls off old doors, but recycles them! And the warranty was excellent for the doors, finish, hardware, etc. In this day and age of instant gratification, it's people like Lorenzo that make us slow down and realize that is is worthwhile to get an expert to really understand the situation. Had we gone with an order from someone who didn't come look at our home, we'd have garage doors that wouldn't work or had limited warranties. Not only was Lorenzo knowledgeable and meticulously thorough, he was extremely polite and even arrived 5 minutes early (to a 1.5 hr appointment time slot - that never happens!). We highly recommend Precision and Lorenzo.

When I was having problems with my garage door I had called several places. I found Precision to be helpful and when the technician came over he wasnt pushing me for a sale. This I really liked. He took the time to explain everything and what I could afford was within my budget. Yesterday, late afternoon, my garage door failed to open. Upon checking further I noticed the Garage Door Spring had snapped. I immediately went to the Web to check on Garage Door Repair companies. After a thorough search, I found Precision to offer the best Service and Warranty. I called them yesterday evening and received a prompt response. I explained the situation and Precision set up a service call for today, between 10AM and 12 Noon and that Gary would be calling. Well Gary called early and came early. He was friendly knowledgeable and explained in detail what had to be done. Well, he did an excellent job and from that experience I would have no problem recommending Precision for any garage door repair or even installing a new garage door. Our garage door springs broke on a Saturday evening, with both cars trapped inside. I called Precision on Sunday morning and Gary came out that afternoon. He was efficient, friendly and got our problem (and some we were unaware of) fixed within an hour! Would recommend Precision Garage Doors to anyone needing work on their garage doors.

Very disappointed with my experience with Precision. I called in and told them exactly what was wrong and what I needed done, but they wouldn't give me a ballpark estimate without sending a tech over. They said the tech would have to evaluate the garage door and that only then could I get an estimate. I had already called several other places and gotten estimates with no issues. Against my better judgement I scheduled an appointment with Precision because they had same day service available and I figured it would be about the same cost as the other places I had gotten estimates from. The tech came over and was very friendly and I told him what the issue was and what I wanted done. The tech looked at it for 2 minutes and agreed with what needed to be done. He then quoted me well over 2X the price of the other quotes I'd received. I was totally shocked and thought he had made a mistake. I asked him to go over what all that price included and he took me through all of the items. Essentially they were tying to up-sell and replace everything (rollers, hinges, bearings, pulleys/cables, and spring). I then asked him for a quote if only the work that was actually needed (broken spring replacement) and he entered it into his tablet and the price was still almost 2X the cost of the other quotes I had gotten. I asked if there was any other cheaper options to be competitive with the other quotes I had gotten and unfortunately there weren't. At this point I said that I was not going to have the work done by Precision and the tech said he understood and that there would still be the service charge for the 10 minute visit. I asked if there was anything he could do to waive the fee since he didn't diagnose anything that I hadn't already told them was wrong and he said that unfortunately he could not do that. So, I paid the fee and got another company to come out and do the repair for much less despite having to pay the service fee to Precision. My advice is to do your research and get several quotes (as one should always do with anything).

I'm sorry you were not happy with your service with us, but am glad your needs are taken care of Our Customer Service Representatives are not technicians and are not able to determine exact pricing based on each customers' individual descriptions of their issue which is why we quote the service fee upon scheduling the appointment. You agreed to a professional coming to your home for this inspection and estimate. In looking further into this appointment, I see that you have a Torquemaster system, in which case a "broken spring" requires the entire system to be replaced/converted to the much more reliable Torsion System which we provide. We do not carry or service Torquemaster as we do not believe they are a long-term solution. We proposed a lifetime warrantied solution for your door. We are here when you need us and always fix it right. I'm sorry this was not the answer you were looking for, but we appreciate the opportunity to serve your garage door needs.

In spite of the problem with the garage door, we could not have asked for a more knowledgeable technician. Ryan Gray, not only made me feel better about my big faux pas of running into the garage door, he was also very understanding, kind and helpful. These doors were originally installed by your company over 20 years ago, the product, service and quality has kept these doors in great shape, except for now, and we always, when we have the opportunity, recommend Precision as a definite company to use. Thank you for being there for us.

Technician arrived at the agreed time and perfectly repaired and programed my garage door opener and remotes. By luck on of my springs broke when the tech was at my home - I'm glad it didn't break after he left so that it all got fixed at the same time. Tech did a door service and my door and remotes work better that they did when new. Thank you Precision.
