Came home to a garage door that would not open. When I called for an appointment I was told a technician would be dispatched between 4 and 6pm. A few minutes later, shortly after 3pm, I was called by the tech who asked if he could come right away. He arrived at about 3:15 pm and the entire job was completed in under an hour. Both springs, all bearings and door rollers were replaced. He even lubricated the opener screw. I was pleased with the quick response and the efficient service and would recommend Precision to anyone needing a quick response and great service.

Fast service and friendly but very pricy!! I only had one broken spring. I was in a hurry and wanted to get my garage door fixed. The technician quoted me several different figures and warranties. He noted that there would be no warranties to just replace the broken spring. I selected the service which he called “life time warranty” for parts and repairs which included 2 springs, rollers and couple of other parts that the technician said that he needed to do the job. It ended up costing $620.00! Was it worth it? Time will tell.

Precision quoted me a price of $700 to replace a torsion spring. Went to a different door company and they quoted $270 to replace torsion spring with a different spring(not a torsion spring) and the door works great now. Why precision did not offer this option I do not know. I would not recommend precision to anyone since they didnt seem to care about the cost to their customer.

What Mr. Chavez is referring to is a Torquemaster system, the same system he had previously (not a torsion spring system) on his garage door. What Precision Door Service quoted Mr. Chavez was a Torquemaster Conversion, which includes all components required to convert from the Torquemaster System to a Torsion System (16' Torsion Bar, End Bearings with Brackets, Cable Drums, Cables, Two Springs, Center Bracket, Center Bearing, and 10 4" Rollers). Included in this Torquemaster Conversion is lifetime warranty on all parts and labor which is a very generous warranty - one not offered by any of Precision Door's competitors. The Torquemaster system Mr. Chavez purchased for $270 is a very inferior system with an extremely short life cycle rating. It is not uncommon for these systems to be replaced every 3-5 years, which can quickly turn from a perceived savings to a very real ongoing cost. Because these Torquemaster systems are so inferior, which is why they are offered at a lower price, I am aware of only one Garage Door company in the Albuquerque area who installs or replaces these systems, and there is good reason why most of us shy away from this product.

Rudy has been out to work on my Precision garage door in the past, today he came to diagnose a problem - turned out I needed a new opener. I am impressed not only with the consistency of having the same technician, one that is familiar with my garage door, but also with the fact that Rudy was able to take care of the installation on the spot and did a great job of explaining the new system. Outstanding service. Just got back from vacation, and my garage door was malfunctioning. I thought I have to wait till Monday to get the door repaired. I purchased a Big Deal for garage door maintenance. I called Precision Garage Door and scheduled my appointment. Five minutes later, I received an email telling me who my technician would be including a picture. Rudy was scheduled to arrive between 12 and 2. He called around 11 to say he was ahead of schedule and ask if he could come earlier. He was there within 15 minutes of the phone call and got straight to work. Within minutes, Rudy realized that my door mechanism was seriously compromised and needed replacement. He quoted me a price and was willing to leave and let me think it over or do the work then and there. Perhaps I should have shopped around at that point, but Rudy was there and had all the equipment and parts to do the repair so I moved ahead. Rudy replaced the entire mechanism inside 40 minutes and it functions perfectly. Rudy was polite, communicative, and highly efficient. While I may not be pleased about having to unexpectedly shell out $700 to fix my garage door, I could not be happier with Rudy and the service provided by Precision Garage Door. I suspect that had I shopped around, I could have found a better price, but for this level of service and professionalism, I'm willing to pay a premium.

The technician (Rudy) was very courteous and amiable. He arrived earlier than the scheduled appointment after asking if someone would be available. He was able to troubleshoot the issue with the opener in less than five minutes and had it fixed in two blinks of an eye. We got a new garage door opener from you guys and it was working great,then a few weeks later the door started sticking. I called for someone to come out and check it, we were still under warranty, and Gary came out again and saw what the problem was and fixed the sticky spot and even 2 other spots he said were causing or will cause a problem. Gary said the new opener is lifting in a different way and closing the door tighter than our old opener and it caused a tight spot at the top, but he fixed it and adjusted 2 rollers he said will help too, and checked everything out and we were very happy with the quality of his service and his attention to details all over the door and opener, not just the problem we had with it but the whole thing in general. Will def call you guys when we need a new door.
